RLSS NWSMP Level 3

Who is it for?

The NWSMP Level 3 module is also known as the 'In Water Rescue' module. It is suitable for anyone who is planning to enter deep water or to supervise others in deep water. This could include outdoor instructors running coasteering, gorge walking and rafting  activities, ecological survey staff, construction staff and water safety staff providing safety cover at waterborne events

Course Delivery

The NWSMP is a progressive award, meaning that you need to complete a Level 2 award before or at the same time as completing the Level 3 award.

The level 3 award is generally delivered in 1 type of environment although the skills covered will apply to all environments that candidates have trained in at Level 2.

The Level 3 award has a small amount of theory learning and is predominantly delivered through wet practical activities

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Personal safety
  • Safe entries and exits
  • Approach to casualties
  • Casualty management and aftercare

  • It is expected that candidates bring personal equipment appropriate to the environment and level of activity undertaken. If candidates don't have access to personal equipment, please let us know at the time of booking and personal equipment can be supplied.
