Level 3 Paediatric First Aid (2 Days)

Who is it for?

This course meets the requirements for care providers who require a Paediatric First Aid qualification to comply with the EYFS framework, Department for Education Paediatric First Aid in Early years guidance or other settings not covered by this guidance but where a first aid needs assessment has identified that Paediatric First aid Training is required

Course delivery

DS Event Services Paediatric First Aid courses are delivered in a classroom using a mix of theory sessions and classroom based practicals

We use the latest technology including wireless mannequins with real-time feedback to give you the best experience possible

Course Learning Outcomes

  • Role of the Paediatric First Aider
  • Seizure
  • Diabetic emergencies
  • Primary survey
  • Choking
  • Asthma
  • Resuscitation (CPR including the safe use of an AED)
  • Minor injuries
  • Meningitis
  • Wounds, bleeding and shock
  • Recovery position
  • Febrile convulsions
  • Allergic reactions including anaphylaxis
  • Fractures
  • Extreme cold and heat
  • Head, neck and back injuries
  • Foreign bodies
  • Electrical incidents

Additional options

  • This course can be delivered at your premises or a suitable local venue can be arranged
  • This course can be combined with an anaphylaxis management bolt-on for settings where there is a need for Auto Injector Training
  • This course can be split over a period of up to 6 weeks, reducing the impact of staff downtime
  • If you have a combination of staff requiring a 2 day  Paediatric First Aid Course and a 1 day Emergency Paediatric First Aid Course, these can be combined

  • Course ratio: Minimum 2, Maximum 12 (larger groups can be accommodated with additional trainers or over multiple sessions)
  • Course Venue: This course can be delivered in a classroom as long as there is enough space for practical activities
  • Course Duration: 12 hours over 2 days
  • Course cost: Dependant on numbers and venue
